This session builds directly on Workshop 1
A focused performance workshop for candidates who understand the law but lose marks when questions are long, unfamiliar or deliberately close. Participants learn how to deal with plausible options, precision words, missing predicted answers and time pressure. The session replaces improvised decision-making with practical rules for answering, flagging and moving on calmly.
Learning outcomes
• Apply core exam rules that prevent avoidable lost marks.
• Break down long fact patterns without treating every detail as equally important.
• Use wording such as could, should, must, most likely and best to distinguish close options.
• Resolve a two-option dilemma using the call, legal threshold and decisive fact.
• Make controlled answer, flag and move-on decisions under time pressure.

Course Staff
Suzanne Reece is an SQE coach, author and non-practising solicitor who helps graduates and internationally qualified lawyers approach the SQE with clarity, confidence and a practical strategy.
Drawing on 17 years in private practice, where she specialised in high-value civil claims, Suzanne brings real-world legal insight to exam preparation. Her teaching focuses not only on what candidates need to know, but on how solicitors analyse, communicate and make decisions under pressure.
